Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027
At a special meeting of Kildare County Council on 21st October 2021, the Elected Members adopted the Naas Local Area Plan 2021 - 2027.
The Naas Local Area Plan 2021 - 2027 will come into effect on 1st December 2021.

At a special meeting on 21st October 2021, the Members of Kildare County Council adopted the Naas Local Area Plan 2021 - 2027.
The Naas Local Area Plan (LAP) 2021 - 2027 will come into effect on 1st December 2021.
The LAP and supporting documents will be available to view here from that date.

Notice of Special Meeting to consider the proposed Material Alterations, Chief Executive’s Report dated 16th September 2021, Motions and to make the Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027
A special meeting of Kildare County Council to consider the proposed Material Alterations, Chief Executive’s Report dated 16th September 2021, Motions and to make the Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027 will be held at 10.30 am on Thursday 21st October 2021 in Newbridge Town Hall.
The public can attend however numbers are limited and to do so a request must be sent via email to meetings@kildarecoco.ie
Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2021 - 2027
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 20(3)(e) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), that Kildare County Council has prepared Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027.
The Proposed Material Alterations Report and supporting documents can be viewed on our Public Consultation Portal here https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en/browse from 23rd July 2021 - 23rd August 2021.
Observations/Submissions
Submissions or observations with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations only to the Draft Naas Local Area Plan and associated documents, may be made before 4pm on Monday 23rd August 2021. Submissions or observations should be clearly marked ‘Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027’ and must be submitted either:
- Online, through the submission form facility available on Kildare County Council’s Consult portal:https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en/browse , OR
- By post to: Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare.
The closing date for receipt of submissions is 4 p.m. 23rd August 2021
Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2021 - 2027
Pursuant to Section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council, being the Planning Authority for the area, has prepared a Draft Local Area Plan (LAP) for Naas.
The Draft Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027 comprises a written statement and maps and is accompanied by:
- A Sustainable Planning and Infrastructure Assessment (SPIA).
- A Social Infrastructure Audit (SIA)
- Statement of Character (SoC) for the Naas Architectural Conservation Area
- An Environmental Report on the likely significant effects on the environment on implementing the LAP - pursuant to the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment [SEA]) Regulations 2004-2011;
- An Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report - pursuant to the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC);
- A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) Report - pursuant to Section 28 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended);
A copy of these documents may be inspected from 9th of March to 21st of April 2021 at the following locations:
- Planning Office, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas during opening times of 9.30am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday (closed Good Friday and Bank Holiday Mondays). In accordance with public health advice, appointments must be booked in advance at http://kildare.ie/countycouncil/OnlineBookingSystem/ and face coverings must be worn in public buildings.
