Michael Coleman (b. 1951) is a Dublin-born painter and printmaker renowned for his distinctive abstract works. His work is characterised by carefully structured compositions, often using layered fields of colour that resolve into powerful monochromatic forms. His paintings and prints are held in numerous public collections, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the Hugh Lane Gallery, Trinity College Dublin, the Office of Public Works and the Arts Council Collection.
