A Sculpture is a Story
Sculptor Aidan Harte on Myths, Monuments and Modernism.
Aidan Harte is an Irish sculptor who lives in Kildare. He has written three novels, a children's history book and directed a TV show. He writes on culture for The Critic and other magazines. In 2022 his Púca statue caused a minor scandal in Co Clare. The upside of that debacle was that it revived a great character - but the real scandal, Harte argues, is that our folklore has become so forgotten. A Sculpture is a Story is an illuminating discussion about why that happened and what can be done to relight the flame.
