Culture Night “Soundings” – A Celebration of Poetry and Memory
Step back into the chalk-dusted classrooms of the past with Soundings, a unique stage production celebrating the beloved poetry anthology that shaped generations of Irish students. Devised and produced by David Walsh on behalf of Capella Productions, this special Culture Night event brings the Soundings collection to life through readings and live music from the 1960s to the 1990s.
Featuring poems by literary greats such as Yeats, Kavanagh, Shakespeare, Keats, and Emily Dickinson, the evening invites participants from their 30s to their 70s to share the verses that inspired them, alongside personal reflections and musical interludes from the era.
