Temporary Relocation of Newbridge Library
Exciting News for Newbridge Library!
Kildare County Council’s Library Service is delighted to announce that construction of the new Newbridge Library & Local Studies Centre will begin in 2026.
This state-of-the-art facility will be built on the current library site. To prepare for this major development, Newbridge Community Library will close temporarily on Thursday, 11 December at 8:00pm. The library will then relocate to Liffey Lodge, Newbridge, which will serve as its temporary home during the construction period—ensuring continued access to library services for the community.
Important Service Updates During the Move:
- From Saturday, 22 November: The in-library request service will be unavailable. Customers can continue to request items online and choose an alternative Kildare library as a collection point.
- Your membership works everywhere: You can use your library card in any Kildare library, and our online services are available 24/7.
- No fines: The library service no longer charges late fees. Items can be returned to any Kildare library.
We appreciate your patience during this transition and look forward to welcoming you to our temporary location in 2026 while your new library takes shape.
