Filming in County Kildare
Kildare County Council supports film and screen production in the county through Kildare County Council Arts Service, which acts as the initial point of contact for all filming enquiries. The Arts Service plays a key role in facilitating and coordinating the filming process. This includes receiving applications, advising on requirements, and liaising with relevant Council departments such as Roads, Parks, Heritage and Environment to assess proposals.
Filmmakers are required to submit appropriate documentation, including insurance, risk assessments and method statements, depending on the scale and nature of the production. The Arts Service then coordinates internal consultation and issues formal written permission, including any conditions attached to filming activity.
Our aim is to provide a film-friendly and supportive approach, enabling production to take place smoothly while ensuring the protection of public spaces, heritage assets and the wider community.
Please contact arts@kildarecoco.ie for enquiries relating to permissions for filming in the county.
