The Biannual Kildare Dance Summer School is a longstanding programme led by Kildare County Council Arts Service, offering an inclusive space for people to engage creatively with dance and movement. Established in 2003, the Summer School has played a central role in supporting dance development in County Kildare for over two decades.
Drawing on principles of Laban Movement Analysis, the Kildare Dance Summer School has emphasised embodied awareness, expression and relationship through movement. This approach supports inclusive participation, enabling people of all abilities and backgrounds to explore dance through attention to body, space, effort and connection.
The Kildare Dance Summer School has consistently reflected contemporary and socially engaged dance practice, placing an emphasis on inclusion, accessibility and embodied learning.  Supported by Kildare County Council Arts Service, with funding from the Arts Council and the HSE, the Summer School provides meaningful access to high‑quality dance experiences, contributing to the cultural life of the county and fostering a strong, supportive dance community in Kildare.
