As the Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme enters the final phase of construction, Kildare County Council would like to thank the businesses and people of Naas and surrounding areas for their patience and support during this project. Phase 3 of the works is currently progressing, with the eastern side between the Ballymore Road Junction and Murtagh’s Corner now almost complete. A change to the layout of the one-way system along this section of Phase 3 will take place on Monday 11 March, 2024 to facilitate the works on the western side of Fairgreen Street.
The change to the traffic management layout is summarised below:
- Outbound traffic from Naas Main Street to the Ballymore Road junction will continue from Murtagh Corner to the Ballymore Road junction but will now travel on the eastern carriageway for the remainder of works in this phase.
- Inbound traffic from Ballymore Road junction to Murtagh Corner will continue to be prohibited. Motorists wishing to access Naas main street via the Kilcullen Road or Ballymore Road should continue to follow the diversion routes provided via the South Ring Road.
- Two-way access from the Kilcullen Road Roundabout to the Ballymore Road junction will be facilitated in this phase of the works.
- Pedestrian movements between Murtaghs Corner and Ballymore Road will be maintained during this phase.
This traffic management layout will be in place until mid-April 2024. The change to the traffic management layout during this phase can be viewed on Kildare County Council’s website at the following link:
Kildare County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the works but are delighted to be progressing this important active travel project.
