Glas Civil Engineering Ltd are continuing works on the Royal Canal Greenway scheme from Louisa Bridge, Leixlip to Maynooth Harbour.
As part of this scheme, the following works are ongoing:
- Section of the towpath/greenway from R406 Straffan Road, Maynooth to Pike Bridge remains closed for upgrade works.
- Section of the towpath/greenway from Deey Bridge to Louisa Bridge, Leixlip remains closed for upgrade works.
- In addition, upgrade works are continuing on the R148 Road between Pike Bridge and Deey Bridge/Blakestown. Various traffic management layouts and a road works speed limit reduction (from 80km/hr to 50km/hr) will be periodically in place for these works.
Note the section of the towpath/greenway from Maynooth Harbour to the R406 Straffan Road, Maynooth has reopened as of Friday 25 October.
