Glas Civil Engineering Ltd are continuing works on the Royal Canal Greenway scheme from Louisa Bridge, Leixlip to Maynooth Harbour.
As part of this scheme, the following works are ongoing:
- Section of the towpath/greenway from Deey Bridge (Blakestown) to Louisa Bridge, Leixlip will reopen to the public from Friday (evening) 29 November.
- Section of the towpath/greenway from R406 Straffan Road, Maynooth to Pike Bridge remains closed for upgrade works.
- Upgrade works are continuing on the R148 Road between Pike Bridge and Deey Bridge (Blakestown). Various traffic management layouts and a road works speed limit reduction (from 80km/hr to 50km/hr) is in place for these works. From Tuesday 12th November, a stop/go shuttle system will be in place for an estimated 8-week period.
