Vera McEvoy 2022 Textile project Thread Kildare artist Vera McEvoy led this intergenerational textile project. Transition Year students from Ardscoil na Tríonóide and the Creative Crew in Mount St Mary’s, Athy, explored textile techniques for the school’s entries into the annual national Junk Kouture competition. Bridget  Ní Dhuinn 2024 Art in the Community programme  Summer Solstice Athy Gathering  Macnas artist Bridget Ní Dhuinn collaborated for six weeks with four community groups, YouthINK, Aontas Ogra, Athy Sing and Sign ISL, and the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWS) Athy to create two additional large-scale wearable puppet sculptures. One features a butterfly, symbolising Athy ISL and the global deaf community, while the other, a monkey, connects Kilkea, Whites, and Woodstock Castles with the Dukes of Leinster. Beth  Murphy 2024 Art in the Community programme  Summer Solstice Athy Gathering  Beth Murphy of Willow Wonder facilitated community workshops over 6 weeks with Athy Women’s Shed, Willow Weavers, Peter McVerry Trust, and Athy Craft Group. Together, they designed and co-created two large-scale wearable puppet sculptures now owned by the town of Athy for future events. Griese Youth Theatre  2024 Art in the Communtiy programme Summer Solstice Athy Gathering  Griese Youth Theatre youth members and leader Aoife Barrett performed Replica by Titas Halder for the Summer Solstice gathering. Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Átha Í,  2024 Art in the Community programme  Summer Solstice Athy Gathering  The Comhaltas group under the guidance of musician Jim Kelly secured additional tutoring classes and purchase of Uilleann training pipes to keep the strong tradition of traditional Irish music and piping in Athy alive.
