This painting by Francoise Caruana is a work of realism although not photorealistic, it is representational but not mimetic like a photograph. Despite it not being photorealistic it is painted with the background out of focus like it would be in a photograph. The composition is naturalistic with some of the birds partially out of frame, again looking like a photograph.
