This painting by Trevor Geoghan is painted in a photo-realistic manner, also known as mimetic realism: literally mimicking reality. It is painted with great attention to detail not just in the foreground subject, but in the whole composition. Geoghan manages this realism with a limited palette of mainly whites and blues, with only two areas of bold colour, in the foreground with the rabbit’s fur and in the background trees.
