Brid Ni Rinn
"An talamh Olc"
This sculpture by Brid Ni Rinn is unusual in that it is made of both bronze and stone. Both stone and bronze are traditional materials used in sculpture having been used for thousands of years, with sculptures surviving from ancient Greece. It is unusual that bronze and stone would be used together like in this work. Here the stone, representing the stone of the floor, is left in a fairly raw form, while the bronze is a highly detailed, realistic sculpture.
