Kildare County Council confirms in excess of €300,000 for Creative & Arts Grants projects

As the latest tranche of grant opportunities are announced, Kildare County Council has confirmed funding of in excess of €300,000 to supports artists, arts groups/organisations and artistic and creative projects in the county. Kildare County Council has published details of 22 separate grants and award opportunities to support the development and presentation of creative and artistic projects in the coming year. Submissions can now be made to any of these awards through the online portal at Kildarecoco.submit.com. where the eligibility criteria is set out.

Arts Grants, Creative Bursaries and Film Commission Opportunities

Kildare County Council welcomes applications for Arts Grants, Bursary Awards and Film Commission Opportunities 2022. The local authority supports creative, cultural and arts events, programmes and artists in a variety of ways annually.  Artists and creatives arts collectives and community groups, schools and youth groups may consider the following grant and award opportunities:

Kildare Creative Ireland Bursary Awards 2022

As part of Kildare's 2022 Creative Ireland programme, applications are welcomed from individuals and groups for the Kildare Creative Ireland Bursary Awards 2022 for projects that plan to develop bodies of work with a public interface/engagement.  Kildare County Council invites applications that creatively explore themes of wellbeing; sense of place; heritage (built, natural, archaeological and historical exploration); Brigid 1500 (towards commemorating the 1500th anniversary in 2024, of Brigid of Kildare's death); music; STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics); Irish language and climate change.

 

Creative Ireland Cruinniú na nÓg Bursary Award 2022

Kildare County Council’s Creative Ireland team invites proposals from artists and organisations to host and facilitate creative engagements for and with children and young people across the county for Cruinniú na Óg 2022, Ireland’s national day-of-creativity for children and young people (11th June 2022). The Cruinniú na nÓg Bursary Awards 2022 are supported by Kildare County Council’s Creative Ireland team.  Creative Ireland is a Government of Ireland Initiative.

 

Kildare Decade of Commemorations Bursary Award 2022

Applications for the Decade of Commemorations Creative & Artistic Bursary Award 2022 (up to €7,500) and the Community Grants (up to €2,500) are welcome from individual artists, art groups and community groups from County Kildare for artistic and creative community-led responses based on the Decade of Commemorations themes. A list of these theme can be found on the call out (submit.com).  Applications that relate in some way to County Kildare in the 1922-1923 period are particularly encouraged. Applications can be made for awards up to €7,500. Applications should explore a theme(s) relevant to Kildare's Decade of Commemoration programme, with a local relevance. The Kildare Decade of Commemorations Award is supported by Kildare County Council’s Decade of Commemorations Committee and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under the Decade of Centenaries 2012-2023 Initiative.

 

Creative Places Athy grants

Kildare Arts Service has published a suite of grants to support established artists, emerging artists/creatives, arts organisations/groups, and creative communities to begin the process of making work together in Athy and the Municipal District. These are the first of a series of opportunities via Creative Places Athy, with more updates expected in the weeks and months ahead.

Grants include the Sowing the Seeds of Socially Engaged Art Award for artists/creative practitioners (up to €4,000); the Emerging Artist / Creative Practitioner Award (€500) and the Creative Communities Award (up to €2,000) for socially engaged arts projects.

 

Kildare Local Live Performance Programming scheme, Phase III

Following the success of Phases I and II in 2021, Kildare Arts Service welcomes applications from established artists, arts organisations/groups, producers and promoters from all artforms to apply to this scheme which will support the programming and presentation of live performance events in county Kildare from April - June 2022. The Kildare Local Live Performance Programme Awards (€15,000) will provide the opportunity for artists and arts practitioners to deliver new activities, beyond the scope of their core activity or usual programme of events. This scheme, in conjunction with Kildare's Creative Ireland Programme, should support cross-collaborative events or initiatives in the county, and is funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
