Expressions of Interest are invited from artists for Per Cent for Art commission

St. Mary’s Boys’ National School, Maynooth is engaged in a capital building project funded by the Department for Education, due for completion in July 2022. As part of the project, Per Cent for Art funding of €49,000 has been secured.   St. Mary’s BNS wishes to engage an artist to work with the school community, on a commission to mark this milestone in the development of the school.

Expressions of interest are now invited from artists across all artforms.

The commission may include Artists in Residence programmes, commissioning of artwork (temporary and permanent) across art forms and included digital media, and may include collaborative work practice.  Applications that consider the physical school environment (the buildings and grounds, indoor and outdoor) as well as applications that directly engage the school community are welcome.  It is expected that the artist will have previous experience of working in educational settings.

Artists should submit their CV, expression of interest and samples of work via email to percentforart@maynoothbns.ie by 12pm (noon) Friday 11th June 2021.
