Culture Night Kildare 2022 Call Out for Commission Awards and Expression of Interest for events

Kildare County Council is pleased to confirm that Culture Night will take place on Friday 23rd September 2022 from 4pm till late and is currently looking for expressions of interest to participate.

Culture Night is an annual island-wide public event that shines a light on all aspects of culture, creativity and the arts. It seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day. On Culture Night, doors are open late and all venues and events are available to the public free of charge. We hope this year’s Culture Night will offer the opportunity for audiences to once again celebrate and fully engage with in-person cultural events and to benefit from the pleasure and rewards they bring to all of us.

Kildare County Council Arts Service has published two call-outs for opportunities for both artists and the wider community to get involved with their own Culture Night projects or events this September. We are particularly interested in projects that reflect the cultural richness of Kildare and the diversity of all communities living in the county, initiatives that specifically engage the 18-35 demographic, and projects that assist in the development of a vibrant night-time economy. We are committed to projects that Pay the Artist and those that consider equality, inclusion, accessibility and diversity.

Kildare Arts Service will commission a number of public-facing projects, across art forms to coincide with the county’s Culture Night celebrations. Idea submissions are welcome from individuals and/or groups of artists. Commissions will range from €1,000 - €3,000. To apply for this opportunity, please use the online application form.

Each year, thousands of groups and individuals participate in Culture Night the length and breadth of the county. If you are a Kildare-based artist, performer, organisation or community group, we are keen to hear your proposals for this evening of celebration. Applications from new participants who are representative of all Kildare’s communities are particularly welcome. To resister your expresssion of interest, please use the online application form.

The deadline to submit your project/event for the County Kildare Culture Night programme is Friday 24th June 2022, 5pm.

Applicants will be notified of decisions during the week starting Monday, 11th July.

For all other Culture Night enquiries, please contact Culture Night Kildare Coordinator, Sheena Malone at, or phone 045 980872.

Culture Night is brought to you by the Arts Council / An Comhairle Ealaíon, in partnership with local authorities and cultural organisations throughout the island of Ireland.
