Imaginary Canal

Project: ‘Imaginary Canal’

Artist: David Dunne

Artist’s Statement:
I see the sculpture as an interactive work. It would begin with the path which would incorporate bronze elements. These elements / markings reflect the nature of canal life and it’s history. These elements would create a sense of discovery as you walk along the path. Central to the green are, in the middle of the seating would be a plaque showing the map of the Grand Canal from Henry’s Bridge to Healy’s Bridge, with the railway and nearby towns.
