Xcessible Award
Xcessible is hosted by Cara Centre to help organisations become fully inclusive and has been developed by using their Sport Inclusion Disability Charter as a guiding tool. Kildare Sports Partnership was guided through the bronze award under the headings of Openness, People, Activities, Facilities, and Promotion. We were supported by Cara through each area and set realistic and manageable goals and deadlines.
Bronze Xcessible Award
Kildare Sports Partnership was chosen as one of three Local Sports Partnerships to pilot the Xcessible Bronze Level Award during 2020. The organisation had to achieve several key objectives with the aim of embedding inclusion across all aspects of our work. Our SIDO delivered Sports Inclusion and Disability Awareness in Sports Training to our Board of Directors that year, with a presentation of our work to a panel who assessed our organisations progress. We were honoured to receive the award and to be marked as an inclusive organisation.
Silver Xcessible Award
We were delighted to receive the news we progressed to the Silver Award in 2021 and look forward to continuing our work with our new Sports Inclusion Disability Officer who joined us in 2021.
We are committed to achieving the Cara Sport Inclusion Xcessible Silver Award as part of our mission to function inclusively & provide sports opportunities to people of all abilities.
We wish to continue our journey in building a strong foundation for inclusion by aiming for silver, and eventually, gold recognition.
