Temporary Closing of Roads

Kildare County Council gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following road from Monday, 29 July 2024 to Friday, 2 August 2024 to facilitate road resurfacing works. The road will be closed nightly from 21:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs.

Alternative Routes: Traffic travelling east should divert right onto the R409 at Blackwood Crossroads continuing the R409 turning left at its junction with the L7081 Downings North continuing until turning right at its junction L6001 Carragh GFC continuing until turning left at its junction with the L6002 Curryhills Prosperous continuing onto the R403. Traffic travelling west should turn left off the R403 onto the L6002 Curryhills continuing until turning right onto the L6002 Carragh GFC continuing until turning left onto the L7081 Downings North continuing on this road until turning right onto the R409 Downings North continuing onto the R403. |

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the A/Senior Executive Officer, Transport, Mobility and Open Spaces Kildare County Council, Áras Cill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or directly on the consultation portal at https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 1 July 2024.
