Motor Tax office – information for customers
Declaration of Non Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Since Non-Use of Motor Vehicle Act 2013. Please note that it is no longer possible to get a declaration of non-use in arrears witnessed by a Garda when taxing a vehicle. Declarations of non-use must be made in advance using form RF150 for a minimum three-month period. This declaration must be received by the motor tax office before the end of the current tax disc or previously declared non-use period (if applicable)
Driving Licences
Customers are reminded that this office ceased to accept driving licence applications since Friday 25th October 2013. Any person requiring a driving licence or learner permit must attend one of the offices of the new service provider National Driver Licence Service. (See www.ndls.ie for further details). See list of NDLS centres below.
We would ask customers where possible to refer to the various websites for the information they require in the first instance e.g. www.kildarecountycouncil.ie www.ndls.ie www.rsa.ie www.motortax.ie etc. - much of the information you are likely to require is readily available on these sites.
