Annual Liquor Licensing Renewals (including Bingo & Gaming Licences)

There are two different procedures relevant to annual licence renewals and they are summarised in Section 1 and Section 2 below. Select the section relevant to your licence type and follow the instructions.

1.  District Court licence applications:

i.e. Club licence, Public Dance licence, Music & Singing licence, Gaming licence, Bingo licence, Transfer of licence

Please click this link to enter the premises details and upload the most recent Service Certificates for the premises i.e. fire detection and alarm system, emergency lighting system, and fire extinguishers. This portal will also facilitate Kildare County Council in collecting the €200 licensing fee as part of the licence application process. The original Service Certificates should be stored in the Fire Safety Register for the premises.

2.  Licence applications that do not require a District Court application:

i.e. Publican’s licence renewal, Restaurant licence, or Hotel licence

The Licensee shall store the Service Certificates (fire detection and alarm system, emergency lighting system, and fire extinguishers) in the Fire Safety Register for the premises. There is no need to submit this certification to the Fire Authority.

Regardless of which type of licence is being renewed, the Fire Authority would like to take this opportunity to remind owners and management of their fire safety obligations under Section 18(2) of the Fire Services Act 1981 & 2003 which states:

“It shall be duty of every person having control over premises to which this section applies to take all reasonable measures to guard against the outbreak of fire on such premises, and to ensure as far as reasonably practicable the safety of persons on the premises in the event of an outbreak of fire”.

Inspections of licensed premises may be carried out at the discretion of the Fire Authority. Please ensure that your complete Fire Safety Register is available for inspection. Kildare Fire Authority will lodge objections to licence renewals where serious fire safety issues are encountered.  A sample Fire Safety Register can be found here
