About Local Studies
Local Studies forms an integral part of the Kildare Library Service, in partnership with Genealogy and Archives. It is the focal point for local history research in County Kildare for historians and enthusiasts alike.
The majority of books and periodicals in the collection have now been added to the public library catalogue and can be searched for through this link: Kildare Library Service Catalogue
Updating of collections listed on the library catalogue is ongoing. Please contact the Local Studies Librarian if you are seeking a particular item for research and we may be able to assist.
Other records, including ephemera, photographs, newspapers and maps, are also available for consultation by researchers on a reference basis by prior appointment.
