Kildare County Council invites views on the Draft Kilcullen Settlement Plan

Public Consultation event on Tuesday 5th November
23rd October 2024: Kildare County Council has published a draft plan for Kilcullen that updates the objectives from the Kilcullen Local Area Plan 2014-2020to achieve the successful planning and sustainable development of the town.
The draft Settlement Plan aims to ensure that the town has an adequate supply of development land to meet the needs of the town for residential, employment, commercial, community, recreational and other uses. It also includes measures for the provision of new infrastructure and the conservation of the town’s built and natural heritage, biodiversity, and much more. The plan aims to ensure that Kilcullen will be a thriving small town that offers an excellent quality of life to those living there that are proud to call it home.
When adopted the new Settlement Plan will form part of the Kildare County Development Plan 2023-2029, as required by planning legislation.
The draft plan is available to view online at https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en/browse. The plan is also available to view at the Kilcullen Branch Community Library or the Planning Office at Kildare County Council (Áras Chill Dara, Naas).
The online public consultation is now open and the deadline for submissions is Wednesday 20th November at 4pm - https://shorturl.at/rW35Q
Submissions can also be made in writing to Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Kildare County Council, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare marking the envelope “Variation No.1: Kilcullen Settlement Plan, Kildare County Development Plan 2023 – 2029"
As part of the public consultation an information event will take place on Tuesday 5th November 2024 at Kilcullen Town Hall, Kilcullen Bridge, Kilcullen from 4pm – 7pm.
