Kildare County Council’s Paint Amnesty event a ‘huge success’
37.3 Tonnes of Waste Paint Collected
Kildare County Council in partnership with the Regional Waste Enforcement Office and the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, held a free domestic waste paint recycling event on Saturday 28th September 2024 at Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas.
The event aimed to assist and encourage households in recycling and to reduce dumping across County Kildare.
Kildare County Council were delighted with the unprecedented response over the 5 hours of the event, approximately 870 cars visited the site, which equates to 1 car every 21 seconds. A total of 37.3 tonnes of waste paint was collected on the day.
Funding for the event, which was held in collaboration with Enva, was awarded under the Anti-Dumping Initiative from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.
