Kildare County Council Launches Climate Innovation Fund for 2024
Building on the success of the Climate Innovation Fund in the last few years, Kildare County Council’s Climate Action Office is pleased to announce the launch of the Climate Innovation Fund 2024.
The aim of this fund is to foster innovative climate solutions in Kildare. Specifically, the fund is aimed at community groups, SMEs, entrepreneurs, tradespeople, early-career researchers, education institutions and individual citizens active in Kildare.
A total fund of €25,000 is available per Municipal District to support climate innovation projects. The minimum funding request will be €5,000 up to a maximum request of €25,000.
Local Property Tax has been allocated by all five Municipal Districts to support this fund.
Commenting on the scheme, Community Climate Action Officer, Dara Wyer stated that:
“We know that many people in Kildare are keen to be part of the solution to the climate problem. This fund will allow groups and individuals to bring ideas to life. The scope of the grant allows a wide range of projects to be developed. A special thanks to the councillors from each of the 5 Municipal Districts who made the fund possible.”
