Public Amenity set to open at De Burgh Woodland Gardens
Kildare County Council hosted the Mayor of Naas Municipal District Cllr Bill Clear and members of the Naas MD on Friday 24th of May to mark the launch of the initial phase of works being untaken to provide public access within the De Burghs Woodland Gardens.
Located in the heart of Nass, and accessed off Mill Lane, the De Burghs Woodland Garden date back to around 1696. The woodland gardens are an important historic landscape, the area of estate subject to this initial opening consists of circa 18acres of mature woodlands, walkways, water features including an octagonal pond, waterfalls, and canals and a rich collection of plants and trees. Once opened, the woodland gardens will provide a much-needed amenity and resource to the community.
The gardens, which will open to the public in the coming weeks, will initially open on a ticketed managed basis for weekend access only. A free online booking system will allow users to prebook day tickets, booking details and user guidelines will be available in the coming weeks on www.kildarecoco.ie
