Kildare Short Grass Film Commission to Premiere at the Galway Film Festival
'Sound and Colour’, a Kildare Short Grass Film commission will have its premiere screening at the prestigious Galway Film Fleadh on 14th July. The film which was made on location in Kildare last year, is a short film following Hannah who returns home after her attempted suicide and must face her dysfunctional and emotionally repressed family. Believing that her relationship ending is the root cause of her depression, the family avoids talking about the “incident” at all costs. The film was created by Pale Rebel Productions.
Writer and director Emma Foley said "Sound & Colour is a true passion project for me. I am over the moon to be given this support from Kildare Short Grass, allowing me to tell this story and hopefully show these themes in a new light."
The film was produced by Tamryn Reinecke.
To date, Kildare County Council has supported the making of over 50 films through the Short Grass Film Commission and Bursary Award. Through the Kildare Short Grass Film commissions and bursary awards, and other endeavours, they will continue to promote Kildare as a ‘Film Friendly County’ and to support filmmakers to realise their ambition.
