Kildare's Dance & Movement Summer School Makes a Welcome Return!

Kildare’s Dance & Movement Summer School will make a welcome return this summer, running in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth from Tuesday 15th – Friday 18th August.
Led by Kildare County Council Arts Service, with support from the Arts Council, and curated by Ailish Claffey, the Summer School will offer day-long workshops on the Maynooth University campus. The programme includes ‘Dance in Community Contexts’, led by Philippa Donnellan, ‘Inclusive Dance’, facilitated by Elaine Thomas and Rosie Leak as well as performance and choreography, with Alexandre Iseli and a Movement Choir, directed by Wendy Hermelin.
The Dance Summer School will be provided free of charge this year and advanced registration of interest is required. Based on demand, applicants will be matched to workshops that best suit their requirements.
The closing date for registration is 12 noon, Friday 28th July, via the link below. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Curator Ailish Claffey is a freelance dance artist, choreographer and curator based in Kildare. Her choreographic work examines the complexity of human relationships and explores the lived experience of those she works with. Co-creating, facilitating and performing lie at the heart of her practice. As Dance Artist in Residence at ACRE Project, Celbridge, Ailish leads ‘Meet & Move 2023’ a weekly intergenerational workshop welcoming all ages and stages. Her residency in the ACRE is supported by Kildare County Council.
