Kildare County Council, on behalf of Irish Water, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the following road between 21:00 hrs Friday and 04:00 hrs Monday on two consecutive weekends during the period commencing Friday, 07 July 2023 to Monday, 31 July 2023 to facilitate installation of pipework.
Advance notification of start date will be provided. Roads will be opened early if works are completed early.

Alternative Routes: Eastbound vehicles travelling on the R403 from Celbridge will be diverted left at Young’s Cross Junction. They will continue on the R404 Barnhall Road (circa 0.5km) to the roundabout and take the Celbridge Road (R404) to Leixlip. Traffic will then be diverted right onto Station Road (R148) through Leixlip Village to the Lucan Road Roundabout. From there traffic will leave the diversion onto the N4 or onto the R403. Westbound vehicles travelling on the N4 to Celbridge after taking Exit 5, will be diverted right at the top of the off-ramp, towards Leixlip Village. Traffic will travel on Station Road (R148) through Leixlip Village as far as Galvin’s Cross and turn left via Celbridge Road (R404) towards Barnhall Roundabout (circa 2.5km). At the roundabout, traffic will turn left towards Young’s Cross Junction where it will leave the diversion onto the R403. Eastbound vehicles travelling on the M4 to Celbridge after taking Exit 5, will be diverted left at the top of the off-ramp towards Leixlip Village. Traffic will travel on Station Road (R148) through Leixlip Village as far as Galvin’s Cross and turn left via Celbridge Road (R404) towards Barnhall Roundabout (circa 2.5km). At the roundabout, traffic will turn left towards Young’s Cross Junction where it will leave the diversion onto the R403. Local residential access will be maintained. |
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
