Temporary Closing of Roads

Kildare County Council, on behalf of Glas Civil Engineering Limited, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close the following roads on Monday, 17 July 2023 to Friday, 11 August 2023 to facilitate resurfacing and maintenance of the road at Great Connell Bridge.

Alternative Route: Traffic travelling on the Great Connell Road (L2028) will be diverted left at the Great Connell Graveyard onto the L6064 and then right onto Harbour Road (L6063). At the end of the L6063 traffic will turn right onto the L2032 at Rosetown. Traffic will travel straight and make a right turn onto Great Connell Road (L2028) where the diversion ends. |

Alternative Route: Traffic travelling on the L2032 Rosetown will be directed to Athgarvan Cross. Traffic will take a right and travel along the R416 where it will take a right in Newbridge and join the R445. Traffic will continue on the R445 and take the second exit at the roundabout beside Pfizer and join the Great Connell Road (L2028). Traffic will continue on the L2028 to the Great Connell Graveyard where the diversion ends. |

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána. Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
Any objections/observations should be lodged in writing to the A/Senior Executive Officer, Transport, Mobility and Open Spaces, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare or directly on the consultation portal at https://consult.kildarecoco.ie/en on or before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 26 June 2023.
