Last month, Kildare County Council launched its podcast series Understanding Kildare’s County Development Plan exploring different aspects of Kildare’s County Development Plan and offering insights into the opportunities for people to have their say and contribute to the future development of the county by engaging in the consultation process and making a submission.
A public consultation on the draft Kildare County Development Plan 2023 - 2029 is ongoing, inviting and encouraging submissions from citizens, communities and businesses alike to have their say on the future development of the County. The closing date for submissions is 4pm, 24th May 2022.

An introduction to the draft County Development Plan, what it is, its objectives, purpose, and relevance with our guest, the Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr Naoise Ó Cearúil and host Amy Granville, Senior Planner, Kildare County Council.
Episode 2
Interim Chief Executive of Kildare County Council Sonya Kavanagh joins host Amy Granville to discuss some of the key areas of the County Development Plan and offers her insight into developing Kildare as one of the best places to live, work and do business.
Episode 3
Kildare County Council’s Director of Planning and Strategic Development, Eoghan Ryan hosts this episode and is joined by guest, Allan Shine, CEO of County Kildare Chamber to discuss topics such as job creation, Foreign Direct Investment, providing expanded opportunities and developing a resilient economy.
Episode 4
Kildare County Council’s Heritage Officer, Bridget Loughlin, joins host Eoghan Ryan to discuss how the County Development Plan seeks to develop a strategy to increase urban access to open green spaces and preserve and develop our heritage and Green infrastructure.

Marian Higgins, Director of Economic, Community & Cultural Development, joins host Eoghan Ryan to explore how the County Development Plan will seek to support the development of sustainable communities in Kildare.

Breda Maher, Regional Co-ordinator, CARO joins host Amy Granville to explore the area of Climate Change and how the County Development Plan along with the Local Authority Climate Action Plan seeks to put a strategy for making Kildare climate responsive.
