Kildare County Council and Meath County Council
Proposed Maynooth and Environs Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031
Pursuant to Section 20 (3) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Kildare County Council and Meath County Council propose to make a Joint Local Area Plan for the Maynooth and Environs area.
The Draft Maynooth and Environs Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031 (Draft Plan) comprises a written statement and maps and is accompanied by:
- A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Environmental Report pursuant to the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment [SEA]) Regulations 2004-2011.
- A Natura Impact Report pursuant to the EU Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC).
- A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) Report pursuant to Section 28 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and an accompanying Surface Water Management Strategy.
- A Settlement Capacity Audit (SCA).
- A Social Infrastructure Audit (SIA).
- A Statement of Character (SoC) for the Architectural Conservation Area.
A copy of these documents may be inspected from Wednesday, 19 June to Thursday, 01 August 2024 at the following locations:

A public information session will take place on Wednesday, 10 July from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Technology, Society and Innovation Building (TSI Building) Maynooth University, Kilcock Road, Eircode W23 X04D.
Kildare County Council and Meath County Council now invite submissions in respect of the Draft Plan and accompanying reports (including environmental reports) before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, 01 August 2024. Your name and address should be stated in your submission, and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. Children or groups/associations representing the interests of children are welcome to make submissions. Please make your submission in one of the following ways only (Late submissions, e-mail or faxed submissions will not be accepted):

- In writing marked “Draft Maynooth and Environs Joint Local Area Plan 2025-2031” to :

Submissions/observations made within this period will be taken into consideration before the making of the Maynooth and Environs Joint Local Area Plan 2025 – 2031.
