Can I Appeal a Traffic Fine
An Appeal in relation to a Parking Fine must be received by the Roads And Transportation Department, Level 4 Aras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare within 28 days from the issue date of a Parking Fine. An appeal will only be considered where an appeal is received with the specified period of 28 days and complies with the Appeals & Nominations Conditions 2012 below. Any appeal that does not comply with the Appeals & Nominations Conditions 2012 will be automatically rejected.
Once an appeal is lodged against a fine the incremental increase of the fine is paused until a decision is made on said appeal. Should an appeal be rejected the projected increase date of the fine is given in the rejection notice letter. The onus is on the appellant to follow up on said appeal to ensure correspondence is not missed in relation to the appeal.
If a fine is simultaneously appealed and paid for at the same time the payment will be receipted as an admittance of the alleged offence and the appeal will be automatically rejected.
Please note payment of a fine is considered an admission of the alleged offence. Refunds will not be considered.
Please refer to the Kildare County Council Parking Appeals/Nominations conditions (link below)prior to lodging an appeal.
