Road Safety, Cycling and Sustainable Transports

Cycling is fun. It is a lesire activity and a great way of travelling. It gives you the freedom to get around on your own, in addition to benefiting your health and wellbeing, and by cycling, you are also making great use of sustainable transport, reducing carbon emmissions and in general, helping the environment.

You can achieve many good things from cycling, it can improve your mental health, brain power, improive your sleeping patters and help you live longer.

There are many different types of cyclists and many different classes of people who use a bike. From pedal cyclists to mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrids, single-speed to dutch bikes, the most suitable bike for you will vary on what way you want to ride a bike.

Kildare County Coucnil is committed to ensuring that we provide safe and suitable cycle lanes and cycle routes for cyclists, where possible and with resources and funding available to us.

Our Cycling section will hopefully provide you with information in relation to all aspects of cycling.
