Kildare County Council Celebrates National Women’s Enterprise Day
Advocating for Enhanced Access to Business Supports for Female Entrepreneurs
1st November 2024: On Thursday 17th October 2024, Kildare County Council, in collaboration with County Kildare Chamber and Network Ireland Kildare, celebrated National Women’s Enterprise Day, by hosting "Girls Just Wanna Have Funds!" in the Moat Theatre, Naas.
Kildare County Council’s Local Enterprise Office emphasises the critical need for access to business supports for female entrepreneurs and this event focused on equipping women with the knowledge and resources they need to successfully secure funding or investment to start or scale their businesses. It was attended by over 100 female entrepreneurs with an incredible range of experience – seasoned entrepreneurs, industry leaders, innovators and future trailblazers.
Opening the event, Sonya Kavanagh, Chief Executive, Kildare County Council, said: “I hope tonight’s event leaves you inspired, connected, and more empowered than ever to pursue your goals.”
MC for the night, was The Positive Economist, Susan Hayes, who led challenging conversations with female entrepreneurs who have successfully secured significant investment for their companies. Their stories told of the highs and the challenges associated with onboarding investment.
Jacqui McNabb, Head of Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Kildare County Council said: “Our goal is to ensure that every woman with a business idea has the opportunity to turn it into reality. We believe that with the right support, women can drive significant economic growth and innovation. The LEO Team is dedicated to providing that support to all businesses in Kildare.”
Led by Kildare County Council’s Local Enterprise Office, She Succeeds is a unique programme designed to increase the number of women-led companies in Kildare scaling internationally. Female entrepreneurs, at all stages of business, are encouraged to get involved and to reach out to their Local Enterprise Office to discuss the support available and best suited to their business needs.
