Weather Warning for County Kildare
Officials from Kildare County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team (SWAT) attended a briefing with Met Eireann and the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management today, concerning the upcoming weather, particularly Storm Betty.
Kildare currently has 2 yellow weather warnings from Met Eireann:
- A yellow rain warning which is valid from 17:00 Friday 18/08/2023 to 06:00 Saturday 19/08/2023
- And a yellow wind warning which is valid from 21:00 Friday 18/08/2023 to 06:00 Saturday 19/08/2023
The public is advised to take precautions during these times and to expect the possibility of spot flooding, difficult travelling conditions, potential power outages or damage to temporary structures. People undertaking camping or other outdoor activities should ensure tents and mobile homes are adequately secured during these weather events.
