Kildare County Council sign works contract for the construction of 33 residential units at the former Ambassador Hotel site in Kill
Kildare County Council has signed a contract with K & J Townmore Construction Ltd. of Clonminch House, Clonminch Hi-Tech Park, Tullamore, Co. Offaly for the construction of 33 new social housing units and associated siteworks at the former Ambassador Hotel site, Kill, Co. Kildare.
Works are due to commence on site early in the new year with an expected completion date in March 2025. The project is funded under “Housing for All – a New Housing Plan for Ireland”.
Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Cllr Daragh Fitzpatrick said; “I very much welcome the signing of the first contract for construction of social houses in Kill for a number of years and looked forward to the development of more schemes throughout the County over the coming years.”
Annette Aspell, Deputy Chief Executive, Kildare County Council added; “We’re delighted to reach this important milestone for the development of 33 much needed residential units in Kill. We look forward to working with the team at K&J to bring this development to fruition. We’re committed to delivering a progressive housing programme over the coming years that will contribute to providing long awaited social housing for those most in need in our county.”
