Culture Night is an annual island-wide public event that shines a light on all aspects of culture, creativity and the arts. It seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day. On Culture Night, doors are open late and all venues and events are available to the public free of charge. Audiences are offerered the opportunity to celebrate and fully engage with a variety of cultural activities.
Kildare County Council Arts Service has announced a call-out for both artists and the wider community to get involved with their own Culture Night projects or events this September. Projects that reflect the cultural richness of Kildare and the diversity of all communities living in the county, and initiatives that specifically engage the 18-35 demographic are of particular interest. We are committed to projects that pay the Artist and those that consider equality, inclusion, accessibility and diversity.
If you are a Kildare-based artist, performer, organisation or community group, we are keen to hear your proposals for this evening of celebration. Applications from new participants who are representative of all Kildare’s communities are particularly welcome. Join in with the thousands of groups and individuals who participate in Culture Night the length and breadth of the county!
