We are delighted to welcome to Newbridge library singer songwriter Declan O'Rourke who has turned to the pen alone to give us these two books 'The Pawnbroker's Reward' and 'Whisper of Oblivion' the first two books of his trilogy on The Great Hunger. Based on real lives and events these books capture the early months of the famine and beyond.
Declan will be interviewed by Flor MacCarthy, renowned political presenter and broadcaster who has worked with RTE and Oireachtas TV. Flo has a passion for history and the arts. Her book The Presidents' Letters is a homage to the art of letter writing and was nominated for the An Post Irish Book Awards.
Declan's book is based in Cork and Flo is from Cork. We feel these two will find plenty to talk about.
