Exhibition on the Gallery With Judy Lawler and Zelda Cunningham
Zelda Cunningham and Judy Lawler explore the natural surroundings of Wicklow and Kildare as inspiration for their work. They recently exhibited together at the Dunlavin Arts Festival 2022.
Their exhibition will feature a series of wall pieces exploring mapping and the rhythms and patterns in nature.
Zelda’s work explores location, how it frames our identity and influences our ideas. Fragility and resilience are the central themes while the movement of the stitches through the cloth create boundaries and contour lines giving the impression of topographies.
Judy has been developing a series of oil paintings that investigate the wild plants in the hedgerows as subject matter. She explores the perpetual rhythms of nature, portraying the density of plant forms while allowing spaces for release and infusions of colour.
