Future Tapestry exhibition: Celbridge Library
Future Tapestry is a newly commissioned virtual reality artwork which is an artistic response to the current state of sheep farming and wool production in Ireland. Directed and produced by John Conway and written by Aisling Byrne, with visuals by NOHO Dublin, this virtual reality (VR) piece explores the ‘Farm-to-Fleece’ process of creating wool.
Also on display is ‘Stitching the Community Together’ - an art-based, intergenerational programme centred around the medium of wool and knitting. The project, supported through the Creativity in Older Age Scheme, brought together local nursing homes and schools in Kildare to co-create intergenerational knitted projects.
Commissioned by Kildare County Council Library Service, Climate Action and Age Friendly Co-ordinators and funded by Creative Ireland through the Creativity in Older Age Scheme
