Millennium Link Road Experiment
Kildare County Council and Maynooth University are working together to research different ways of maintaining public spaces that don’t involve pesticides.
An experiment has been put in place on the Millennium Link Road in Naas and public engagement is required to make it meaningful.
The experiment involves nine different weed treatments in nine different plots, marked by individual numbers on both sides of the road.
Participants are invited to start at the Applegreen Filling Station, scan the QR code on the signage and complete a short survey after all locations have been viewed.
The survey deals with the visual impact of each site with the aim of identifying neat, safe, practical and biodiversity-friendly solutions to open space management challenges.
Completed surveys will be entered into a draw for a goodie bag full of sustainable prizes.
