Military Seminar Launch
The Irish Military Seminar (13-17 May) opens in Naas Library & Cultural Centre with the showing of two short films– ‘The Rathbride Flying Column. Kildare in the Civil War’ and a WWI short ‘The Land.’ Produced by Prosperous Heritage Society ‘The Rathbride Flying Column’ docudrama tells the story of a local Flying Column and the execution of some of its members during the dark days of the Irish Civil War.
Produced by Frame It Productions ‘The Land,’ is set during WWI, is the story of two British soldiers struggling to survive the aftermath of a failed mission.
Author and film historian Wayne Byrne will interview Joe Murphy on the making of a film documentary on Kildare’s Civil War and discuss with Joseph Butler the filming of a war movie in Kildare.
