Naas Canal Quarter Masterplan
Background
The Naas Canal Quarter area is located to the west of Main Street, east of Sarto Park, north of Newbridge Road and south of Abbey Road and Bridge. The Naas Local Area Plan 2021-2027 includes objectives to regenerate this key area of Naas Town Centre, the first step being the preparation of a masterplan to provide a vision for the transformation into a thriving hub for both locals and visitors. This project is supported by the Government of Ireland Urban Regeneration and development Fund.
Project Overview
The Naas Canal Quarter Masterplan preparation process commenced in July 2024 with the appointment of AECOM’s design team to prepare the masterplan for Kildare County Council. The masterplan is very important because it will also provide a vision for how the Naas North-West Quadrant development will connect to Naas Town Centre through the harbour area.
