Climate Action Strategic Policy Committee - Teagasc Ashtown Site Visit

Our Climate Action Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) met in early September for a site visit to Teagasc Research Centre in Ashtown. Kildare County Council’s Strategic Policy Committees assist the council in the formation and review of policy, so keeping up to date with the latest developments in research is a priority for the Climate Action SPC. Dónall Flanagan, Nursery Stock/ Ornamentals Specialised Advisor and Eoghan Corbett, Research Officer from Teagasc kindly showed the committee around the facilities and the latest research into the alternatives to peat for growing mediums, mushroom picking technology and their research into ornamental tree trials.
