Kildare County Council is inviting people in Maynooth to take part in a short series of community climate action events linked to the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone. The series is funded by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment through the Decarbonising Zone Demonstrator Fund.

Through the series, people will have opportunities to learn more about the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone, share local ideas and priorities, and explore practical actions that can support a more sustainable, climate-resilient Maynooth.

The events are designed to be accessible, practical and community-focused. People are welcome to attend the events that are most relevant to them, whether they want to share a quick idea, join a structured local discussion, or find out more about reuse, repair, sharing and everyday climate action.

Drop by this informal pop-up event and tell us what you would like Maynooth to be like in 2030. Through quick, visual and family-friendly activities, Kildare County Council will be asking people to share views on local climate priorities such as walking and cycling, green spaces, flooding, biodiversity, waste prevention and community collaboration.

This event is a chance to learn more about the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone, add your ideas to the conversation, and find out how to get involved in the next events in the series.

This half-day local dialogue event will bring together community members, local groups, businesses and stakeholders to discuss Maynooth’s climate future. The event will include short presentations and facilitated table discussions on the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone, local climate risks, community priorities and opportunities for practical action.

Participants will be invited to share local knowledge, identify what support is needed, and help shape future community involvement in the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone.

This practical community event will focus on circular living, including reuse, repair, sharing, borrowing and reducing waste. Delivered alongside a Toy Library event, it will offer a family-friendly opportunity to explore simple climate actions that can be taken at home and in the community.

Kildare County Council will also share key themes from the earlier events and outline ways for people to stay involved in the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone as community climate action develops.
