Kildare Local Community Safety Partnership Progresses Community Safety Planning
The Kildare Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) recently held its fourth meeting, bringing together representatives from statutory agencies, community organisations and the voluntary sector to discuss community safety priorities and initiatives across County Kildare.
A key item on the agenda was a presentation from ALONE, a national organisation which supports older people through the provision of a range of practical, social, housing and technological supports.
The Partnership noted a report from the Community Safety Plan Sub-Committee, which provided an update on progress towards the development of Kildare's first Community Safety Plan. The next step in the process will involve the appointment of a consultant to facilitate its development.
Councillor Angela Feeney, Chairperson of Kildare Local Community Safety Partnership, welcomed the progress being made; “The Community Safety Plan is a significant opportunity for communities across Kildare to have their voices heard and to help shape local safety priorities. The Partnership is committed to ensuring that there is meaningful engagement with residents, community groups, statutory agencies and other stakeholders so that the final plan reflects the real concerns and aspirations of people living and working in County Kildare."
The Kildare LCSP has been asked to identify locations where additional signage relating to the County’s Alcohol Bye-Laws may assist in raising awareness of the bye-laws and support their enforcement.
The Partnership remains committed to working collaboratively with communities, public bodies and local organisations to enhance safety across County Kildare.
