“The Public Sector Duty is an obligation for public bodies under Section 42(1) of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014 requiring that in the performance of their functions, public bodies shall have regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, promote equality and protect the human rights of staff and service users.
This Council recognises that the Public Sector Duty is an ongoing obligation and has produced our Public Sector Duty Implementation Framework,
to strive for best practice across our services and promote equality and protect the human rights of our increasingly diverse population.
The Council will include achievement regarding delivery of the Public Sector Duty, in our Annual Report. “
