Children’s Chess Club – 5 Weeks For ages 11-13 years

Calling all junior chess players. We are delighted to announce the opening of Naas Chess Club. Our Junior Chess Club will be open to members aged 11-13 years. The first meeting of the club will take place on Tuesday the 16th of April, and it will run weekly for 5 weeks. We hope to continue the club fortnightly after that, but we are hoping to engage some parents to help support this. Parents are invited to attend a brief discussion on how the club will run at 6:15pm on the first night.

In this informative session you will discover the link between food and the climate crisis and you will learn about the food choices you can make that are good for you and the planet. We will share tips on how to reduce food waste, eat seasonally and introduce more plant based choices at meal time sharing some tried and tasted recipes. Plenty of chats and fun activities included.

The group will be facilitated by the Public Health Nurse (PHN). All breast-feeding Mums and Mums-to-be welcome. Women who are pregnant are welcome as this will give the opportunity to ask any breastfeeding questions.

Inclusive POP Event: Lámh at the Library – Silvia Angel’s Lámh Storytime

This Storytime is suitable for young children with developmental disabilities, autism or a language delay who use Lámh, pictures or other communication systems. Lámh at the Library brings popular children's books and stories to all children. Children with special needs and language delays may not experience the full benefits of traditional storytelling, so this interactive storytelling session includes Lámh, visuals and sensory props to accompany and enhance stories.
